Mozambique: Chief of party - Mozambique

Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the five-year, USAID-funded Mozambique Integrated Malaria Program (IMaP) to assist the Mozambican government. IMaP will contribute to reducing malaria mortality, morbidity, and parasitemia in targeted provinces across Mozambique by increasing the use and uptake of quality malaria prevention and control interventions. The project’s activities will improve implementation quality, facility use, and community-based malaria services by strengthening the data flow between these systems. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide overall project leadership, management, and technical direction
  • Serve as key liaison with USAID, the Mozambican government, project stakeholders, and counterparts in the public and private sectors
  • Manage and supervise the work of project personnel and subcontractors
  • Ensure the technical soundness and appropriateness of project assistance
  • Collaborate to create and implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
  • Oversee project work planning, performance management, and strategic communications

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in public health or a related field
  • Extensive experience in implementing malaria or other public health programs
  • At least seven years of experience working with public health programs in developing and transitioning countries
  • Demonstrated skills and experience managing a program of similar magnitude and complexity
  • Prior international donor experience preferred
  • Knowledge of USAID and its contractual and reporting requirements preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Excellent English and Portuguese communications skills, demonstrated leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively across technical disciplines
