Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with the program staff to ensure MEAL activities meet the expected quality standards.
• Under leadership of the Head of Programs and together with other staff participate in participatory program/project planning processes.
• Development of MEAL frameworks for the projects and ensure they meet SOS standards.
• Support project staff in quality implementation of monitoring framework and tools, for collection of information on program performance and impact.
• Planning and undertaking of field data collection exercises, data management, and analysis.
• Support project teams in development of reports with qualitative and quantitative MEAL findings and review reports for quality.
• Maintain beneficiary and indicator tracking databases, and ensuring quality and accuracy of data.
• Contribute to quality reports, demonstrating accountability and learning
. • Support project teams in implementing beneficiary and partners accountability mechanisms in accordance with SOS CVI minimum standards of accountability
. • Together with the project teams support capacity building of internal and external partners in MEAL, including but not limited to development, implementation and use of tools, methodologies, processes.
• Participate in project level learning review/lessons learnt exercises, and in documenting case studies which demonstrate qualitative and quantitative changes over the period.
Skills and Competencies
• Degree in social sciences or development studies from a recognized university.
• At least 3 years’ experience of demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning, including participatory approaches in developmental program.
• A team player with good coordination skills, with the capacity to motivate, develop and inspire staff and partners.
• Fluency in written and spoken Portuguese and English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work sensitively with people from various cultural and social backgrounds.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing and having commitment to meet deadlines.
• Proven knowledge of computerized systems; high degree of computer literacy, statistical analysis and word processing and spreadsheet/Excel skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel within six project locations.
