AIFO – COUNTRY COORDINATOR - MOZAMBIQUE

The ONG AIFO is selecting a Country Coordinator for its activity in Mozambique. Contract: 12 months, renewable. Deadline for the submission of applications**: 31 august 2019.**

Role: Country Coordinator AIFO

Place of Employment: Maputo, Mozambique

Start Date: September 2019

Contract duration: 12 months (renewable)

AIFO projects’ provinces of intervention: Maputo, Manica, Sofala, Zambesia, Nampula, Cabo Delgado.

AIFO projects’ areas of intervention: Health (Neglected Tropical Diseases, Community Health), Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Socio-medical field.

Responsibilities and tasks

The applicant will coordinate with the AIFO Legal Representative in Mozambique and will be in charge of:

· Ensuring the NGO’s institutional representation in the Country with National and Local Authorities, donors, partners and other stakeholders, with a strategic focus on the development and consolidation of AIFO’s presence and visibility in the Country;

· Actively participate to consortia and coordination meetings in the interests of AIFO;

· Ensuring the correct application of the local labour, insurance and security standards, according to the Republic of Mozambique law and AIFO regulations;

· Ensuring the application of the measures required by the Mozambican Government for foreign NGOs registration to the MINEC (Ministerio dos Negocios Estrangeiros e Cooperaçao) and the compliance with the rules for foreign NGOs in Mozambique (including reporting to the national and local authorities periodically);

· Collaborating with AIFO headquarters for the local and expatriated staff management: staff selection, tasks, evaluation and contracts;

· Preparing procedures and regulations related to projects management, offices, bank account and staff, in compliance with the internal regulations, donors requirements and Country legislation;

· Management of the AIFO office in Maputo and supervision of the other offices in the Country;

· Development and monitoring of AIFO Country Strategy in Mozambique and the related Strategic Annual Plans - in compliance with AIFO mission and vision - which include a Financial Planning for AIFO activities in the country;

· Actively collaborate in the development and presentation of new project proposals and in the building of new partnerships;

· Supervising the implementation of the on-going projects in the country, supporting exchange opportunities and mechanisms, promoting synergy and coordination among partners, staff and AIFO offices in country, consulting other Country Representatives and coordinating with the AIFO Project Office in Italy;

· Monitoring of the implementation of the M&E System;

· Ensuring coordination between the country office and the headquarters in Italy, providing also the necessary elements for AIFO institutional communication.

BasicRequirements

Bachelor Degree;

At least 6 years of professional experience in international cooperation projects management (knowledge of project cycle’s management tools), as Project Manager with high responsibility in technical coordination and/or as Country Coordinator;

Excellent knowledge of Italian and Portuguese Language (written and spoken), English language knowledge appreciated;

Computer Skills (Office);

Excellent skills in building and management of complex institutional relations, at high levels, in particular with local authorities (townships, provinces, local ministries);

Excellent skills in planning, management and monitoring of the activities;

Strong attitude for teamwork, management and working groups’ coordination;

Knowledge of the main international donors’ policies, procedures and guidelines.

Preferentialrequirements

Master and/or post-graduate courses in the international cooperation field;

Previous experiences in Mozambique, and/or in the AIFO’s intervention areas;

Knowledge of AICS management and reporting procedure.
