Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Malaria Technical Advisor to join our team in Mozambique.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party, the Malaria Technical Advisor, will be responsible for the technical oversight of malaria treatment and prevention activities, and will represent the technical team for the project in interactions with National Malaria Control Programme, other departments within the Ministry of Health and USAID.
THIS ROLE IS DEPENDANT ON MALARIA CONSORTIUM SECURING A FORTHCOMING GRANT.
The successful candidate will have:
MD, DVM, or MPH/PhD with strong background in malaria epidemiology
Extensive experience in various aspects of malaria prevention and control, preferably in Mozambique or Southern Africa
Experience designing, implementing and managing complex health projects, including budget management, forecasting and work planning
Demonstrated line management and staff capacity building experience
Able to delegate efficiently and technically support teams with no direct line management responsibility
Experience working with partners to initiate, develop and implement successful strategies for malaria control and interventions
Experience in a representational capacity and understanding of working with Ministries of Health in policy and strategy formulation
Previous experience with USAID/PMI projects
Proven track record of excellent communication, supervision and management skills and experience
Strong technical knowledge in the area of malaria prevention and case management and program coordination
Familiar with monitoring and evaluation of large scale malaria control programs
Excellent analytical skills
Strong skills in project management and planning
Ability to work in a multi-site team-based organizational structure, including partners and other collaborators;
Ability to communicate to various audiences
Excellent time management and organizational skills in managing a varied workload, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Excellent written and spoken English and Portuguese, including a track record in completing reporting, technical writing and presentations in both languages
