Role Purpose:
The COSACA Programme Director will be responsible overall for the effective and high quality planning, coordination, management and monitoring of the COSACA Consortium programs, as well as coordinating external reporting and communication on behalf of the consortium. S/he will be accountable to the National Steering Committee on all those aspects and participate with/support the National Steering Committee in high-level representation where needed/relevant.
Contract Duration: Fixed Term - 1 year
Location: Maputo, with travel to field sites
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Post-graduate degree in social/political sciences, arts or in a humanitarian assistance related field
- Demonstrated 5-7years experience in a similar Director or Chief of Party role with humanitarian multi-sectoral, multi-agency humanitarian responses, including participatory assessment methods, in complex emergency contexts with an international NGO or UN agency.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player who demonstrates leadership and is able to support and train program staffs and also able to work in changeable situation in a sensitive and participatory manner.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build and manage complex and diverse stakeholder relationships and develop harmonious teams in a cross cultural context.
- Ability to operate effectively under extreme circumstances including stress, high security risks and rough living conditions.
- Experience in capacity building.
- Able to manage a high workload and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and Oral communication skills in both English and Portuguese
