Tearfund is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to oversee our Somaliland/Somalia programme. Our programme, primarily focusing on Somaliland supports a range of Partner organisations to outwork Resilience and Livelihood projects.
As a strong leader the successful Programme Manager would have substantial proven experience in community development, with a strong focus on resilience and livelihood programming, and operating in insecure environments. Proven experience in capacity developing of NGOs is essential as is excellent project management, monitoring and evaluation; budget management and experience of managing institutional funding.
The post holder would be responsible for partner funding, including overseeing institutional grants, project monitoring, and partner capacity development; along with ensuring all aspects of in-country security and health and safety. The post will be based in Nairobi with regular travel to Somaliland, though dependant on candidate we would consider applicants from neighbouring countries (dependent on Tearfund Registration).
The successful candidate would have excellent oral and written proficiency in English with good interpersonal and negotiation skills. In addition candidates should be self disciplined, with the ability to work proactively. Experience of working effectively within a remote line management relationship would be advantageous. Experience of working in the Somali ethnic regions is essential.
