Chemonics seeks a monitoring and evaluation professional for a five-year, USAID Early Grade Reading project in Mozambique. The project aims to help improve the reading abilities of students in Grades 1 through 4 nationwide by enhancing reading instruction, increasing parental and community engagement in support of student reading, and creating safe learning environments for reading and institute pathways to sustainability. Individuals authorized to work in Mozambique are highly encouraged to apply. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in education, research methods, or relevant field
- Advanced training in quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Minimum eight years of designing, monitoring, and evaluating programs in the education sector
- Success in monitoring results and indicators of education access and quality, learning outcomes, and community engagement
- Experience in sub-Saharan Africa
- Experience organizing, implementing, and reporting on early grade reading assessments of oral reading fluency
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Portuguese required; working knowledge of a Mozambican language or other Bantu language preferred
