Position Summary:
The Data Management Specialist will support the team with data management and analysis activities associated with ICAP’s proposed project, Evaluation of HIV/AIDS Incidence in Small Scale and Artisanal Mining Areas and Surrounding Communities and Implementation of Awareness-Raising Activities, Training, Prevention, and Mitigation of the Epidemic Impacts in Mozambique.
The position is contingent upon availability of grant funding.
Major Accountabilities:
- Develops and adapts, as needed, existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and systems for data collection, management, security, access, analysis, quality assurance, and archiving.
- Contributes to the development, testing, and remediation of data collection instruments supporting the collection of high-quality survey data.
- Supports the team in designing the study (sampling), develop, maintain, and report on data captured as part of the study.
- Supports the team with data processing, analysis, and interpretation.
- Contributes to the adaptation of specifications for automated monitoring reports to be generated by cloud-based study databases.
- Leads and/or actively participates in training associated with data collection.
- Provides remote and on-site technical support to survey teams and perform troubleshooting on data collection challenges, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, or related studies.
Experience, Skills, and Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience supporting a team in designing the study (sampling), developing, maintaining, and reporting on data captured as part of the study.
- Extensive experience supporting data processing, analysis, and interpretation.
- Strong background and experience in qualitative and quantitative data processing and complex studies while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of collected data.
- Evidence of experience in similar Artisanal Small Mining (ASM) studies and database
