- Objectives of the Baseline study
The baseline study is intended to understand and capture current status of Fairtrade certified Flower
Producers that are targeted by D4A Flowers Impact Project against the project goal and the 5 output areas
shared above. The study findings will set the benchmark for project progress monitoring and evaluation.
- Baseline Purpose and Objectives
The baseline study will measure the status of all indicators in D4A Flower project Logical Framework towards understanding the starting point of key elements of the work against which later progress will be measured. This will enable project indicators at output and goal/outcome level to be measured and tracked. The objective of the baseline survey is described to assess the current status and gaps of the 6 Fairtrade certified producers. The baseline report is to be used for monitoring benchmark and evaluating the project
implementation. - Scope and Methodology
5.1. Geographical scope of the study
The project is being implemented in Ziway town with 4 beneficiary farms, (i.e. Ziway Roses, AQ Roses,
Herburg Roses and Sher Ethiopia), in Koka area with one beneficiary (Dummen Orange) and Bisoftu town
with one beneficiary farm (Yassin Legesse Flower farm) in Oromia Regional state, Ethiopia. - Deliverables
A) Comprehensive baseline narrative report in a format agreed between the research team and
Fairtrade Africa.
B) Brief report of methodology and data analysis tools (quantitative & qualitative) used and research
ethics and Protocol followed.
C) Executive summary (A bridged version report) giving a clear overview of the principal findings
Presented in a concise manner.
D) All raw data and interview protocols collected through the research process are made available
in an agreed format to Fairtrade Africa, allowing for future analysis on the data.
