Brazil: Project Managers for Portuguese-speaking countries

AIFO’s work is based on the enhancement of dignity and self-determination’s capabilities of the people benefitting from its initiatives (Leprosy affected persons, persons with disabilities, vulnerable women and children).

The NGO AIFO is looking for personnel to employ as Project Managers in the Portuguese-speaking countries where it works.

Main tasks and responsibilities

· Coordination and supervising of project-based activities in close connection with local and international partners.

· Ensuring timing and quality of the strategic, operative, administrative reports delivered to AIFO and to the donors, together with all the documents related to the project.

· Human resources’ coordination in the field.

· Supporting the consolidation of partners’ skills in planning and managing the activities in order to promote and ensure the development of the actions consistently with AIFO’s mission.

· In collaboration with the country coordinator, identifying the need for feasibility studies and production of project documents for different co-financier organizations.

Technical expertise required

· Ability of project designing and proposal writing.

· Ability to manage complex projects.

· Familiarity with the rules of the calls for projects and the main donors’ procedures (European Union, Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation and UN agencies).

· Ability to handle management and administrative software and online communication tools.

Required conditions

Experience in cooperation projects in Africa and in Portuguese-speaking countries.

Good knowledge of the main international donors’ policies, procedures and guidelines.

Good knowledge and experience of the use of the Project Cycle Management and the Logical Framework.

Educational background in the social and/or management field. Degree in Medicine, Public Health.

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken Portuguese (compulsory); other languages preferred: French, Creole, English.

Duration of the contract: 1 year with the possibility of renewal.

Remuneration within the framework of AIFO’s criteria, in the wake of the professional experience gained.
