Mozambique: Deputy Chief of Party: Government Support (DCOP: GS)

Reporting to the Chief of Party, the Deputy Chief of Party: Government Support will be responsible

for routine, day to day communications with USAID, MISAU, other donors and key stakeholders. The

DCOP: GS will be the COP representative in Maputo and will provide daily, routine supervision of

Maputo-based staff, attend routine, ad hoc, and high-level meetings, and may be called on when it

is impractical for the Chief of Party to respond to urgent matters stemming from Maputo. The Deputy

COP: GS must have in-depth coordination, management, and technical skills necessary for

representing the Activity. This position is not required to perform any supervisory tasks of staff

based outside of Maputo. Requirements include:

● Master’s Degree or higher in Public Health, Nursing, or related field. A degree in Medicine or a

Doctoral Degree in a related field is preferable.

● Minimum of 10 years working in the health sector and a track record of coordinating programs of

a similar scope and budget

● Minimum of 6 years of experience working with a PEPFAR funded program

● Minimum of 6 years of experience in HIV related clinical service delivery

● Demonstrated ability to perform at a senior advisor level

● Demonstrated ability in monitoring and evaluating programs

● Demonstrated experience building capacity and systems strengthening.

● Strong oral and written communication skills in Portuguese and English are required.
