Ayuda en Acción Mozambique is currently seeking to recruit committed, energetic, ambitious, knowledgeable, experienced and motivated professional for its finance and administration unit.
Location: Pemba (Cabo Delgado), with frequent travels to field offices and communities for professional support (technical and administration)

Job Description:
Support the country representative to have sound and prudent accounting and financial management through accepted standards, internal procedures and donor regulations; properly manage human, financial and material resources, according to internal procedures and legal law; provide support to operational areas, local partners, communities and government sector offices and other relevant actors to get strategic goals; and to ensure internal procedures and local laws are respected and complied with at all times.
This position will be in charge of coordinating the Financial & Administration area for a co-financial project that will contribute to improve the economic status of youth through employment and income-generating activities. Specifically, the program will support the set-up of early stage and entrepreneurs start-ups through technical assistance, mentorship, business skills training and market linkages.
Key responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all legal, labor, accountant and tax obligations in accordance with internal procedures and local law. So, elaborate all required reports to be presented, in time and adequate quality.
Prepare financial and accounting reports, verifying the reliability of data and compliance with internal and donors guidelines.
Prepare the financial and administrative annual plan buget in close collaboration with internal stakeholders to support program and operational needs.
Make periodic visits to field offices, partners and communities to ensure that all procedures of human, financial and material resources are being carried out are in accordance with the signed agreement between both parties.
Supervise and manage the treasury (handle petty cash, bank account, etc.), to ensure enough resources to carry out the planned activities of the country program.
Record all financial documents in our accounting system according to the local and Spanish standards,
Support the country representative to manage the human resources of Ayuda en Acción Mozambique: selection, contract, payment of salaries/benefits, training, holidays, etc.; according to labor law.
Supervise and manage the purchase of assets and services in accordance with internal procedures, to ensure transparent and efficient management. Prepare and update the stock of assets.
Understand and be familiar with any system security, safety procedures and requirements to human resources management.
Coordinate the monitoring, supervision and administrative financial external and internal audit.
Ensure internal policies and donor regulations are respected.
To promote implementation of appropriate internal control mechanisms that ensure the best use and management of resources.
Undertake assessments and provide ongoing follow-up in the area of financial management, developing and ensuring the the sustainability of the development processes promoted by the organization
Minimum requirements for the job
Mozambican citizenship.
The incumbent should hold minimum of bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance Commerce, Financial Management, or Business Management with accounting option from recognized educational institutions/colleagues/universities.
A minimum of 5 years work experience in main stream finance, HR and administration in a wider and reputable institution/s; preferably in the NGO sector of which 2 years should be in similar positions.
Knowledge, practical application and implications of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local PGC-NIRF.
Strong knowledge of tax & labour laws, compliance and procedures for international non-profit organizations in Mozambique.
Strong financial expertise and familiar with management and accounting practices, good understanding on staff management, assets management and relationships.
Be conversant with financial management systems like SAP and processing requirements with Microsoft operating systems (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.).
Fluency in oral and written Portuguese is required. Knowledge of English is desirable; knowledge of Macua is a plus.
