Regional ICT Advisor (Eastern and Southern Africa) - Connectivity and Infrastructure

Mission of the position:
The Regional ICT Advisor (Connectivity and Infrastructure) will strategically and technically manage the development and maintenance of an efficient ICT connectivity infrastructure within the Region. His/her main focus will be on ensuring professional connectivity, network management, IT security and business continuity solutions are placed in accordance to the organizational global standards. The Advisor will support the ICT CC to determine bench marks speeds and ensure QoS for all international, regional and local applications
****Key performance areas and main responsibilities:****
ICT Governance
- Support and monitor the implementation of the global ICT strategy, ICT Security, Business Continuity Management in the MAs.
- Contribute to the definition of global and regional C & I, ICT Security, and Connectivity policies in the region and ensure its implementation.
Connectivity, Infrastructure and Network Services
- Support and ensure the development of MAs and IOR C&I standards. Focus on stability, efficiency and cost.
- Further develop the LAN environment guidelines in the regional GSC offices and MAs and support implementation.
- Build and lead team of experts on installation of V-Sat solutions across the various MAs.
- Manage and develop regional collaboration and communication systems.
- Support the roll out of the various software and business application in accordance to the Global Roadmap for ICT Standardization.
- Drive the implementation of ICT Security, BCM, QoS and BOP concepts within the region special focus on global and regional systems accessibility.
- Conduct researches and organize trainings/webinars about latest technology, hardware and tools and advice the MAs.
- Support the MAs in developing effective ICT budget.
Position Requirements
- Education: Degree in ICT/ Computer Science or equivalent
- Fluency in English, oral and written.
- Network Certification, Cisco, ComTIA or equivalent
- 3 years mid-level experience in ICT Management
- Proven In-depth knowledge on LAN and VPN technologies, and underlying technologies IPv4 and IPSec
- Advanced knowledge in Network architecture and optimization (Qos and BOP)
- Advanced knowledge of IT Security and BCM Concepts
- Experience in VSAT technologies
- Demonstrate ICT Expertise in both Hardware and Software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Poses cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Team player
