Project Summary: **
The Mozambique Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanism and Services (MMEMS) project provides on-the-ground support on performance monitoring, data verification, impact evaluation, output, and environmental compliance of USAID/Mozambique activities. The MMEMS main office will be based in Maputo; field offices will be based in Quelimane and Nampula.

**Please note: Only Mozambique citizens are eligible for these positions.

Position Summary:
MSI is looking to fill Driver positions for its Maputo office (2 drivers), Nampula office (1 driver), and Quelimane office (1 driver) in Mozambique. The Quelimane driver will report to the MSI MMEMS Director of Finance and Administration in Maputo; the two Maputo drivers will report to the Human Resources and Office Manager in Maputo; the Nampula driver will report to Deputy Chief of Party based in Nampula.

Responsibilities:

The Driver will be responsible for:

  • The security of all passengers
  • Driving responsibly and care of the vehicle in his/her charge
  • Ensuring that the assigned vehicle is well maintained and clean
  • Checking the vehicle's condition and requirements and fill in the Vehicle Log Book daily, correctly and completely accounting for distance, location, and all other information
  • Ensuring that proper maintenance and servicing of the assigned vehicle takes place on a day-to-day basis and reporting any issues to supervisors immediately
  • Ensuring that MSI rules and regulations are completely followed; in the event of involvement in an accident, report the accident immediately to the supervisor
  • Working on rotated work schedule (day shift duty and night duty as per the needs of the project)
  • Meeting official personnel at the airport
  • Collecting and delivering mail, documents and other items to different ministries and locations
  • Being punctual in the performance of all duties
  • Performing other related duties as required

Period of Performance:
The project period of performance will be five years. Staff contracts are subject to renewal on a yearly basis.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school graduate
  • At least five (5) years driving experience with few or no accidents
  • Holds valid Mozambican driver's license
  • Able to speak primary English
  • Familiar with organization transport rules and policies
  • Ability to travel to regions outside of area of assignment
